The C9 International Avatar Creator Web Edition can create a Channel9 avatar for
you, just like its big brother, the client version.
The Web Edition has the advantage that you don't need to download and/or install
anything on your computer. It doesn't matter what operating system you use, or whether
you have .Net 2.0 installed. All you need is a browser.
However, the client version offers several advantages over the web edition: more
options (you can change the font options and background color), more flexible (quickly
try different options to see which looks best), the ability to use larger image
files, the ability to use a custom flag image, the ability to upload your avatar
to your Channel9 account, and more.
The Web Edition of the C9 International Avatar Creator was originally created by
W3bbo, using the avatar generation
library I wrote. It has been moved here to get all C9IAC related things in a single
place, and to update it with the new C9IAC 2.1 features.
Choose a template for your avatar from the list on the left, by checking the option
button next to the template name. Hover over the template images to see a preview
of what an avatar made from that template looks like.
Note: the country flag and location text have been selected by
attempting to map your IP address to your location. Please check if the values are
correct. You can choose to use different values if you like, such as using your
city for the location text.
When choosing your location text, please be aware that most templates use only a
small area for the text, so long text might result in a small and unreadable font.
Please check if the text on the created avatar is readable, and if not go back and
make the necessary adjustments.
Not all templates use a flag or location text. If you select such a template, those
values will be ignored.
